WHAT IS PERIODONTAL DISEASE & WHAT SHOULD YOU DO ABOUT IT?

The term periodontics is used as a reference to the treatment and maintenance to the structure that supports an individual’s teeth. Normally, this term is used to describe the gum and bone regions of the teeth

Gingivitis is considered to be an early indication of periodontitis or gum disease issues. If you have experienced occasional swelling of the gum area, gums that bleed accompanying brushing or traditional flossing, irritable gums, bright red or bright colored gums, then you are showing the signs of gingivitis. Gingivitis can be rectified by engaging in obtaining regular professional cleanings, adhering to a strict oral hygiene regiment and utilizing anti-bacterial rinses.

If gingivitis is left untreated then there is a chance that this problem can escalate to periodontitis.

There are several other factors that contribute to the condition such as:

• SMOKING

• GENETIC ISSUES

• DIABETES

These conditions might have not been checked. The disease includes all of the symptoms of gingivitis and it can also cause a metallic sensation in your mouth, spaces in between the gums and an individual’s teeth, a receding gum line, bad breath and even loose teeth that are lost from the bone area.

In order to treat periodontitis, we will remove all of the excess bacterial plaque through utilizing a scraping and sonic vibration procedure. Small pads that are treated with antibiotic solutions may be placed in an individual’s mouth in order to reduce excessive plaque and fight disease.
